The owners of the priciest Palm Beach home listed for sale are asking $69.9 million after trying to sell for $30 million more in 2014.
Dr. Norman Traverse, a pulmonologist, and his wife, Nassrine, also offered their seven-bedroom Mediterranean estate with furnishings for $72.5 million.
In 2014, the couple listed their sprawling residence for sale through the Corcoran Group brokerage firm with a $99 million asking price before abruptly pulling the property off the market after a few months.
Broker Linda Gary of Linda Gary Real Estate has the listing for the residence at 1744 South Ocean Boulevard, about a mile south of theMar-A-Lago resort in a section of Palm Beach called Billionaires Row.
The residence has about 23,000 square feet of interior space, built on an ocean-to-lake site that measures almost two acres.
The listing for the Billionaires Row residence became public in the local Multiple Listing Service just before Thanksgiving, when the high-end home shopping season starts in South Florida.
Previously, the priciest Palm Beach home listed for sale was a landmarked estate owned by Jim Clark, the billionaire founder of Netscape. But the listing has expired for his property at 1500 South Ocean Boulevard, which had an asking price of $115 million. [Palm Beach Daily News] – Mike Seemuth
